Ann Peskopos

It doesn't take much time with Ann Peskopos to realize the amazing heart and energy she brings to every person she touches.

Ann has worked at St. Francis downtown for 8 years, first as a concierge, then in the surgical waiting room. It is her job to be there for families and friends as they wait. But for her, it is more than a job. It is her calling.

"I have just been blessed and enjoyed every day here at St. Francis with my family of people I take care of," Ann says. And St. Francis has been blessed with an employee like her—a blessing they chose to realize in March 2008 when they awarded her the Edward H. Stall Compassionate Care Award. She was nominated for this award by another St. Francis employee whose husband had gone through several surgeries. After her time observing Ann, she wrote, "She exemplifies everything that the St. Francis mission stands for, coming straight from her heart to the families and patients. When you look at Ann, you truly see the face of God."

The award is only a small gesture of appreciation for such a truly remarkable and caring person, and Ann took the recognition with humility and gratitude. For her, the comfort that she provides surrounds her as well. "Each of us care, love and respect one another. Not many people have a job like that."
